Congratulations to Kyle Barnes for receiving 1st place in the Texas Feration of Music Clubs Composition Contest. His composition "The Siege of Drogheda" won 1st place among all high school students in Texas. Congratulations Kyle!!
Members of the Cooper High School Band competed in the UIL Region 16 Solo and Ensemble competition at Abilene High School on February 20, 2010. Eleven students received a first division rating on a solo. Seven of those students will advance to the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Competition in May. Eleven ensembles received a first division rating and will also advance to State. In all, the CHS Band will send 40 students to State! Congratulations to all students!

The Band Boosters are putting together a cookbook which will be sold in Fall 2010 as a student fundraiser. We are asking that all students submit two recipes for the cookbook. Recipes may be dropped off at the band office or may be mailed directly to Kara Nixon at chsbandrecipe@yahoo.com.
